Heyford fishery near Northampton has became one of the most popular man made complexes in England. Created in 1990, the venue has now come of age and not only fishes brilliantly well but looks lovely too. Already the venue has hosted major national finals and the five-hour match record stands at 148Lbs. It's not just popular with match anglers, though. Lots of youngsters and families regularly visit Heythod to sample it's fishing. The best method, without doubt, at Heyford is the long pole. In this video England International Dane Harrell tackles one of the venues top pegs with pole tackle. Basing his attack around worms, casters and a special fishmeal/trout pellet groundbait, Dan puts together a fabulous catch of carp both up in the water and on the bottom. Initially he catches using pole floats then proceeds to explain how it is also possible to catch carp without a float by simply floating the pole on the water. The end results are constant action with elastic shooting from the pole tip time after time!
